Alexandre, WHAT WAS YOUR PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE?
I am on apprenticeship in STAPS (Science and Techniques of Physical and Sports Activities) as part of my Master program in Sports Management. Before joining G’IMPACTE team, I had a six-months work experience in Grande-Synthe store and facilitated VITALSPORT program.
WHAT WAS THE MAIN REASON TO JOIN G’IMPACTE ?
In 2019 I was looking for a work-study contract as part of my Master program. Once I learned about Positiv’Impact which now became G’IMPACTE, I became very enthusiastic about this project. I knew it was a right place to work for the positive change.
WHAT IS YOUR MISSION AT G’IMPACTE ?
As Project Leader I support organizations to measure and improve their economic, social and environmental contributions. I work on internal projects with Decathlon stores, warehouses, brands, and processes, but also on external ones – Keolis, Kiabi store and Banque Solidaire de l’Equipement which is part of Emmaüs. I was also involved in building Solidarity Store for Catholic University of Lille. This project was born during the first wave of pandemics and aims to support students who are in poor financial situation. This is the place where students can buy household equipment, clothing, food and sports goods at a moderate price.
CAN YOU GIVE AN EXAMPLE OF ONE OF YOUR PROJECTS ?
Currently I work on the project of Inesis Golf Park in Marcq-en-Baroeul. We are now assessing their social, economic and environmental footprint in the local territory.
We are conducting a series of interviews with stakeholders: teammates, clients, business partners, civil society, such as local municipality. Together with 400 responses received to the client survey, these are all valuable feedbacks on a variety of topics. A study is being made with local data on the Marcq-en-Baroeul territory as we wish to understand properly its challenges for the local population.
Our footprint research results will include contextual analysis of the given territory, Inesis impact matrix, most important quotes, and recommendations based on stakeholder needs and aspirations that we were able to collect and synthetize.
Later we will organize workshops to define most useful projects. There is still a way to go!
WHAT ARE YOU THE MOST PROUD OF AT G’IMPACTE ?
I was part of the entire footprint assessment project of Domyos store in Marcq-en-Baroeul, what a rich experience personally and professionally! We analyzed 1400 customer survey responses which proved their strong commitment towards the store, and so we had significant and solid results.
WHAT IS THE MOST IMPORTANT FOR YOU IN G’IMPACTE PROJECT?
This project gives meaning to my work and my life in general. Knowing that each day we do something for a better future feels extremely positive. When I do interviews, or analysis of the territory, or recommendations, I try to find what improvements I can suggest, this is also the time when I learn lot.
Through cooperation and inclusivity, we seek to change the world, to grow personally and strengthen our self-esteem. Afterwards you really feel you can try and do things!
CONCLUDING REMARKS ?
I had my professional baccalaureate degree and when I look back, I am proud of myself. G’IMPACTE allowed me to realize that with open-mindedness and curiosity one can become an actor of the change.
