CAMILA, TELL US ABOUT YOUR PROFESSIONAL PATH ?
I started my career in Decathlon headquarters as a receptionist for international visitors, and later got involved into company’s mobility project. We are looking for ways to decrease CO2 emission that Campus’ employees are responsible for. Over time this project expanded to other Decathlon locations in Lille metropolis. Driven by this meaningful cause, I joined G’IMPACTE team.
WHAT WAS THE MAIN REASON TO JOIN G’IMPACTE ?
I love taking care of others, I care for our planet too. If we all do, we will certainly make positive change. G’IMPACTE values are aligned with my personal ones, especially about helping and supporting others. Moreover, I hate monotony in my daily life, at G’IMPACTE there is always something going on.
WHAT IS YOUR MISSION AT G’IMPACTE ?
I am project leader, I help organizations to improve their footprint in the local ecosystem. I lead projects linked to mobility topic which is so important for me personally, I make mobility summary reports for Lille agglomeration. I also moderate mobility challenge in our city.
I see myself as a facilitator of links. I had a chance to be in facilitator role in some projects, therefore I know how to create synergies among people and moments of sharing aimed at developping ideas for goodwill of humanity. This is my way to feel useful for the others.
CAN YOU GIVE AN EXAMPLE OF ONE OF YOUR PROJECTS ?
I am proud of helping BTWIN in becoming an active part of the soft mobility project for the Lille metropolis. I oversee creating trustworthy links with the institutions so that together with BTWIN they are all equal project partners.
WHAT ARE YOU THE MOST PROUD OF AT G’IMPACTE ?
I am in charge of mobility challenge within Decathlon. We aim to involve every company employee of our region. The main objective of the one-week competition is to incite our teammates to adopt other means of transport than their car in the daily commuting. For me this exercise is a way to unite our efforts for the same goal, to share best practices among individuals and companies. When we take time to discuss and share our experience, we are more likely to build an effective and sustainable mobility plan for all.
WHAT IS THE MOST IMPORTANT FOR YOU IN G’IMPACTE PROJECT?
G’IMPACTE is a perpetually moving structure. We are always in action, we move fast-forward and we constantly learn something new.
While part of this project, I noticed my personal development, too. This project is very ambitions and challenging, which makes us step out of our comfort zone quiet often. Afterall, it is a place where we focus on people, it is truly obvious during the collaborative workshops we organize for different projects.
CONCLUDING REMARKS ?
I am happy to be part of this big adventure and am confident about its positive results. We learn as we go, and we plant the seeds for the future. Whatever the fruit of this action will be, at least I know I did my best.
