MATHILDE, WHAT WAS YOUR PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE?
I started my career in store as department manager, later as operations and customer service manager. Further, I was involved in a two year’s mission at Decathlon Foundation which aimed to help define and implement the vision of the company. I was thus at the genesis of G’IMPACTE for the pilot project in the Bangalore area where the first footprint assessment has been done in 2016.
WHAT WAS THE MAIN REASON TO JOIN G’IMPACTE?
I have a personal conviction that we must act differently, but I am also aware that when one works in store operations, for example, there is no time to really think about it. I joined G’IMPACTE primarily because I am willing to pass on my experience from working in store as well as in the Foundation. G’IMPACTE and myself, we share the same convictions. That’s why it is meaningful for me.
WHAT IS YOUR MISSION AT G’IMPACTE?
I am a project leader and I help effectuate assessments in Decathlon, but also Leroy Merlin and other stores. I had a chance to facilitate a workshop in Roubaix with the Decathlon’s Inclusion team. Furthermore, I am supporting later stages of various projects, namely the planning part.
I am happy to be involved in elaboration of the G’IMPACTE training program. Our main goal is to share convictions and inspire people to change their working methods while using the suggested tools.
CAN YOU GIVE AN EXAMPLE OF ONE OF YOUR PROJECTS?
I oversaw launching the project of the first Decathlon outlet store. It is in the Roubaix factory complex, something completely innovatory for Decathlon. Based on this experience, we are now in search of a new economic model.
WHAT ARE YOU THE MOST PROUD OF AT G’IMPACTE?
I am truly enthusiastic to be involved in creating a new training program. I am persuaded that while sharing good practices and proofs of positive impact, we start pivoting existing models. We call it “inclusive ecosystem activator” and we are currently testing it at Decathlon. Later it will be available for every organization which is willing to make a positive impact.
WHAT IS THE MOST IMPORTANT FOR YOU IN G’IMPACTE PROJECT?
I care for people very much. Working in a team, creating links with each other, wondering how we can work together more effectively are subjects which I am passionate about. I rejoice to notice the development of people whom I work with.
Also, it is essential for me to have purpose both in my personal and professional life. G’IMPACTE allows me to do something truly positive. In a couple of years, I wish to look back and tell myself that it was worth it.
CONCLUDING REMARKS?
Becoming a mom in 2020, I feel I need to do these positive actions for the future of my daughter. Today, I see that not everything is fine in this world, this is the reason I must act today and leave a positive trace for future generations. I am lucky I can make my dreams come true. Now I will do whatever it takes to make my daughter’s dreams come true.
